3 Fort Sill LIVING | Welcome Friends! I am excited and honored to join this Fort Sill Team as the new Director of Family and MWR. I began my Family and MWR career as a child and youth professional at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Since that time, my professional experiences have included a number of positions within Family and MWR, most recently as Chief of Recreation at USAG Japan. Welcome to wonderful Fort Sill! Whether you are a veteran to the area or just moving in for the first time as my family has, I know you will enjoy the rustic beauty Southwestern Oklahoma has to offer. This winter, Family and MWR has a variety of activities, events, and programs planned to help serve our hard-working military members and their dedicated families. If you enjoy being outdoors, take advantage of Oklahoma's beautiful winters by visiting the Fort Sill Rod & Gun Club's new Pistol Caliber Carbine Course or Lake Elmer Thomas Recreational Area for their beautiful cabins. On the other hand, our fitness centers offer many classes and other indoor fitness opportunities such as HIIT and Zumba classes for those who wish to stay active and warm during the colder months. No matter what you prefer, Fort Sill offers everything from Saturday Storytime programs at Nye Library to Float-In Movie Nights at Rinehart Fitness Center's indoor pool. Let's not forget our community sponsored "Toys for Kids" and "Trees for Troops" programs that help brighten the holidays for military families in need of a little assistance. I highly encourage you to visit our website at sill.armymwr.com or follow us on Facebook to get the latest updates on all we have planned in the upcoming months. Once you see all the Great Plains area has to offer, I'm sure you'll agree that Fort Sill truly is a hidden gem of a duty station. Respectfully, Darryle L. Jones, Director Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation
