EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Fort Sill Family & MWR is happy to feature our
wonderful team member!
SARAH RUCKER
LETRA Acting Program Manager / Recreation Aid
Sarah Rucker has been a dedicated member of the Family and
Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) team for nearly six years,
currently serving as the Acting Program Manager and Recreation
Aid at LETRA (Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area) at Fort Sill.
Initially taking a summer job to earn extra money, Sarah quickly
discovered her passion for the park and the Fort Sill community,
leading her to continue her journey with MWR. Her role allows her
to provide unforgettable experiences to military Families, finding
great satisfaction when guests express their enjoyment of the
activities and events she helps organize. Her background as a high
school English teacher for 26 years showcases her dedication to
working with the public, albeit in a different capacity, where she
can still share something she loves.
Sarah loves transforming guests' expectations of a simple day by
the lake into an adventurous experience filled with waterslides,
kayaking, fishing, and paintball. Outside of her role at LETRA,
Sarah lives on a farm with her husband, teenager, and a variety
of pets, and enjoys hobbies such as kayaking, hiking, cooking,
reading, and painting. Originally from Duncan, she has called this
region home for the past 12 years, contributing to the communi-
ty's vibrancy and recreational opportunities.
