3 Fort Sill LIVING | Welcome Friends! Whether you just came through the Fort Sill gate for the very first time today or are returning to our great community, Welcome! We are so glad to have you and your family here. Fort Sill is a unique military installation located in the foothills of the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge. The charm, history and natural beauty of Oklahoma offer the perfect opportunity for you and your family to explore and learn about Great Plains Country. You can discover and explore our area by participating in the Nye Library and Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area Summer Scavenger Hunt! We want our Soldiers and families to know that Family & MWR understands the importance of providing quality of life opportunities while you are stationed at Fort Sill. The summer is packed with great events, including: • The Diamond Brigade Run (June 3) • Military Appreciation Community Family Fun Day (June 10) • The Fort Sill Summer Concert (July 4) If your family likes to stay active, there's plenty in store for you here. Many families take full advantage of the sunny weather with outdoor sports and recreation such as hiking, archery, fishing, tennis and golf. If your family prefers indoor activities, we offer bowling, fitness classes, and an indoor pool. At Fort Sill we believe in living a healthy lifestyle. Our fitness centers are equipped with top-of-the-line equipment and qualified staff to help you build a qualitative, fun fitness program. Fires Fitness Center even has a climbing wall. As part of the Healthy Army Community initiative, our dining facilities offer healthy options. The Reynolds Army Health Clinic has a fabulous Health Readiness Center. Additionally, our Commissary and AAFES have a variety of ongoing Healthy Choice promotions. I encourage you to check out all of the available support which helps healthy living. If you need child care, our Child Development and School Age Centers are nationally accredited. Come see how the staff offers the highest quality of care with dedication to our most precious asset, military children. Our website, sill.armymwr.com, is a great resource to find the latest information on upcoming events and programs we have planned. We hope you and your family enjoy making Fort Sill your new home! Respectfully, Brenda Spencer-Ragland Director of Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation
