3 Fort Sill LIVING | Welcome Friends! Welcome to Fort Sill! Whether you are here for the first time or returning to our wonderful community, we are so glad to have you! We are busy planning many exciting programs and events this winter! Fort Sill's Family and MWR team stands proud to serve you while you are stationed at Fort Sill. From healthier menu options at our dining facilities to a variety of fitness classes at Fires Fitness Center, our focus is improving the health and wellness of our Soldiers, families, and community. We are honored to be recognized as a model Healthy Army Community! If you enjoy being outside, then take advantage of Oklahoma's sunny winters. Hiking, archery, fishing, golf and the batting cages are great, active options. If your family prefers indoor activities, make sure you check out Twin Oaks Bowling Center, Nye Library, or one of the museums on and off post. If you need child care, our Child Development and School Age Centers are nationally accredited, and our staff consistently offers the highest quality of care with dedication to our most precious resource, military children. On a recent visit, inspectors from Army Headquarters remarked that the interaction with the children in our care was the best they had seen. I stand incredibly proud of our CYS team! The Rod and Gun Club, our newest facility, is a great opportunity to enjoy time outdoors. We also have two guided hiking programs, Hike the Wichitas and Hike Fort Sill, which provide wonderful opportunities to remain active and discover the rugged beauty of Oklahoma. Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area has a movie marathon day once a month at the lodge. Don't miss an opportunity to make your own holiday cards and ornaments at Nye Library's Holiday Workshop. And, as we approach the holidays, let Army Community Services' financial planning workshops and confidential financial coaching sessions help you create financially savvy money management strategies. Also, keep your eyes open for unique events such as our annual Trees for Troops and Toys for Kids Program. I highly encourage you to visit our website, sill.armymwr.com, or like us on Facebook to get the latest updates on all we have planned for you to enjoy this winter. With lots to see and do here, we hope you and your family enjoy making Fort Sill your new home. Respectfully, Brenda Spencer-Ragland Director of Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation
