3 Fort Sill LIVING | Welcome Friends! Welcome to Fort Sill! Whether you are here for the first time or returning to our wonderful community, we are so glad to have you! Fort Sill is a unique military installation located in the foothills of the Wichita Mountains National Refuge featuring Mount Scott which offers beautiful views of the area. Discover the charm, history and natural beauty of Oklahoma with your family by attending one of our guided hikes: Hike Fort Sill or Hike the Wichitas. Fort Sill's Family and MWR team stands proud to serve you while you are stationed at Fort Sill. From healthier menu options at our dining facilities to a variety of fitness classes at Fires Fitness Center, our focus is improving the health and wellness of our Soldiers, families, and community. We are honored to be recognized as a model Healthy Army Community! If your family likes to stay active, there's plenty in store for you here. Many families take full advantage of the sunny weather with outdoor sports and recreation such as hiking, archery, fishing, tennis and golf. If your family prefers indoor activities, we offer bowling, fitness classes, and an indoor pool. Our Commanding General has highlighted our ability as Family and MWR to support mission readiness by enhancing functional fitness capacity inside our fitness centers, thus, we are transforming Goldner Fitness Center and Honeycutt Fitness Center to provide "functional fitness". We want our Soldiers and families to know that Family & MWR understands the importance of providing quality of life opportunities while you are stationed at Fort Sill. We are busy planning many exciting programs and events this spring, such as: • Easter Extravaganza (March 31) • Month of the Military Child (Month of April) • Gary Sinise and Lt. Dan Band Concert (April 6) • 100th Anniversary of Henry Post Army Airfield Celebration (April 7) • Spouse-A-Palooza (April 24) If you need child care, our Child Development and School Age Centers are nationally accredited, and our staff consistently offers the highest quality of care with dedication to our most precious resource, military children. On a recent visit, inspectors from Army Headquarters remarked that the interaction with the children in our care was the best they had seen. I stand incredibly proud of our CYS team! Our website, sill.armymwr.com, is a great resource to find the latest information on upcoming events and programs. With so many opportunities in the surrounding area, we hope you and your family enjoy making Fort Sill your new home. Respectfully, Brenda Spencer-Ragland Director of Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation
